Born and brought up in the City of Joy, Kolkata, Debatrayee Banerjee, a lawyer with a degree of Masters in Law and a diverse spread of legal practice, found her calling as an author and life coach.

Her book on conversation poems ‘A Whispering Leaf’ released at the Oxford Bookstore, Kolkata saw the presence of several eminent personalities from different walks of life. Film Director Shri. Goutam Ghose, Barrister & former Union Minister of State Shri. Satyabrata Mukherjee, Footballer & Coach Shri. Subrata Bhattacharya, Writer & Critic Shri. Shamik Bandopadhyay, Costume Designer Smt. Neelanjana Ghose, Poet Smt. Chitra Lahiri, Writer Smt. Kankabati Dutta graced the occasion and shared their opinion on the book and the young author. Her book received acclaim from all corners of the world.

Since her childhood she has been actively involved in social welfare activities. She later started to work for the community development at her native village named Taki in the India-Bangladesh border. She has been actively involved in various social campaigns launched by UNICEF and CRY and has been intricately associated with various Non Governmental Organisations. She acted as the Secretary of Bangla Noboborsho Ujjapan Samity, an organization primarily involved in the promotion and cultivation of the rich culture and heritage of Bengal.

Since her very childhood Debatrayee has a penchant towards art & culture and has two music albums to her credit. At a very young age, her very first Music Album ‘Jyotsna rate’ recorded at the HMV studio got released from Raga Music and was highly appreciated by media and several eminent personalities. Her second Music Album ‘Atithi’ released in the year 2010 under the auspices of renowned Music Director Late Shri. Mrinal Bandopadhyay received critical acclaim. The entire sale proceed of the Albums were distributed to different orphanages and various NGOs in the aid of economically backward children.

Her roots are tied with a strong academic record. In 2010, Debatrayee passed her I.S.C. Examination from the Heritage School while making the School proud by obtaining the highest in Political Science securing 98% on the same. She became Kolkata’s youngest SCJP (Sun Certified Java Programmer) at an early age of 14 (fourteen) years. Debatrayee had been actively involved in literary work and quite zealously participated and won acclaim in several debates and essay writing competitions like the 2014 International Essay Contest for Young People organized by the Goi Peace Foundation and UNESCO.

Later Debatrayee studied law in the prestigious University Of Calcutta and language in the prestigious University Of Oxford, UK, and has been intricately attached to international politics since then. Debatrayee seeks to connect the fields of law and language to promote the fullness of communication and expression to bring in positive social changes. Having a whole range of international travel and work experience, Debatrayee aims to work for the education of children in her native village and the improvement in the condition of the Bengal countryside.
